LCDR Alan Janigian graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2011 and a Master of Arts in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2017. 

After commissioning, he reported onboard USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62) as the Gunnery and Ordnance Officer and earned his Surface Warfare Officer qualification. Following his first tour, he deployed with USS TRUXTUN (DOG 103) and the GEORGE H.W. BUSH (CVN 77) Carrier Strike Group in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as Fire Control Officer. 

LCDR Janigian reported first to USS CINCINNATI (LCS 20) before LCS Crew 214 transferred to USS MANCHESTER (LCS 14). While on MANCHESTER he qualified as Tactical Action Officer and earned the 2020 Mine Division 12 Tactician of the Year Award. Successfully completing his tour as Combat Systems Officer, he fleeted up and currently serves as the Operations Officer
