Statecraft fellow Audrye Wong, and SSP alums Dan Altman and Fiona Cunningham win AWC awards

SSP has featured prominently in Johns Hopkins University's Kissinger Center's 2021 America in the World Consortium (AWC) Prizes for the best research article and policy papers.

 

Award recipients include: Audrye Wong, 2020-21 SSP Grand Strategy, Security and Statecraft Fellow; SSP Alum Dan Altman; and SSP alum and affiliate, Fiona Cunningham.

Winner of the Best Policy Article on U.S. Foreign Policy and Grand Strategy is Audrye Wong for her article, “How Not to Win Allies and Influence Geopolitics: China’s Self-Defeating Economic Statecraft” appearing in Foreign Affairs.
 


Winner of the Best Research Article on U.S. Foreign Policy and Grand Strategy is Dan Altman for his article, “The Evolution of Territorial Conquest After 1945 and the Limits of the Territorial Integrity Norm” appearing in International Organization.


Runner-up for the Best Research Article on U.S. Foreign Policy and Grand Strategy is Fiona Cunningham for her article, “The Maritime Rung on the Escalation Ladder: Naval Blockades in a US-China Conflict” appearing in Security Studies.
