Abstract

Four years of maximum pressure and hawkish rhetoric towards Iran has nearly crushed that country’s economy and brought Tehran and Washington to the brink of war, but has not succeeded in bringing Iranian leaders to the negotiating table with Donald Trump. What does the road ahead look like in a second Trump term or a potential Biden presidency?
