Colonel Jeffrey Bergmann is an Army War College Fellow with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Security Studies Program. He was commissioned as a Military Police Officer from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1996. He is a former Battalion Commander and earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology, to include an APA accredited clinical internship with the VA Medical Center in St. Louis and a Post-Doctoral Residency in the TBI Clinic at Leonard Wood Army Hospital. Previously, he served as the Director of Emergency Services for the United States Army in Italy, and deployed as the Director of the Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan’s Joint Visitors Bureau and Protective Security Teams. His early operational assignments include positions in the Southern European Airborne Task Force in Italy, where he deployed to Bosnia, Africa, and Kosovo, followed by command in the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York. While in command, he deployed his Soldiers as part of the first conventional ground forces in Operation Enduring Freedom. After command, Colonel Bergmann served as an Assistant Professor at West Point.
