Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Coleman is a 1990 graduate of Luther College in Decorah, IA where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Iowa State University, Ames, IA. Commissioned in December 1995, Lieutenant Colonel Coleman has served as a Logistics Officer in the operating forces with 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, 1st Marine Division, and 2d Marine Logistics Group. Outside of the operating forces, Lieutenant Colonel Coleman served staff tours at Manpower and Reserve Affairs Department, Headquarters Marine Corps and US Joint Forces Command in Suffolk, Virginia. Lieutenant Colonel Coleman’s most recent assignment was as the Commanding Officer of Combat Logistics Battalion 26, 2d Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force. From October 2015 to May 2016, Lieutenant Colonel Coleman deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the KEARSARGE Amphibious Ready Group. He was selected as a Commandant of the Marine Corps Fellow for Academic Year 2016-17 with the Security Studies Program, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Lieutenant Colonel Coleman is a graduate of the U.S. Army’s Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the Joint and Combined Warfighting School.
