Colonel Shawn Creamer was commissioned at The Citadel as an Infantry Officer in 1995. He has been selected for promotion to Colonel and is currently an Army War College Fellow with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Security Studies Program. His troop command and staff assignments include over ten years of service in foreign lands, including eight years to the Republic of Korea and two twelve-month deployments to Iraq. Notable assignments include duty with the National Ground Intelligence Center, the Iraq Assistance Group, the Stryker vehicle manager at Department of the Army, the Weapons of Mass Destruction – Elimination (WMD-E) mission planner at Eighth Field Army, and the Alliance and Multinational Policy Advisor with the United States Forces Korea (detached in support of the Combined Forces Command and United Nations Command). He has commanded infantry units through the battalion level. He last commanded a combined United States / Republic of Korea WMD-E Battalion Task Force that consisted of 92 embedded Korean soldiers and a direct support Korean Infantry Company and U.S. Chemical Company.
