Brittany Logan
Jason Lyall

On May 12, 2021, Jason Lyall (James Wright Chair of Transnational Studies and Associate Professor of Government at Dartmouth College) spoke on the topic “Fratricidal Coercion and Battlefield Performance in Modern War.”

For our final Wednesday Seminar of the spring series, faculty, students and more gathered virtually to hear to Jason Lyall (James Wright Chair of Transnational Studies and Associate Professor of Government at Dartmouth College) discuss “Fratricidal Coercion and Battlefield Performance in Modern War.” Lyall spoke about what happens when militaries coerce their soldiers to fight, based on research from World War II. The talk was streamed live on MIT SSP’s YouTube channel, and a fantastic Q&A with the audience followed.

We will resume the Wednesday Seminar series in the fall of 2021. For more information on our Wednesday Seminar Series, including the 2020-2021 seminars, please visit our Wednesday Seminars page, and be sure to sign-up here to join our mailing list for notifications.
