On Wednesday, March 31, 2021, Kristin Ven Bruusgaard (Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Oslo, and member of the Oslo Nuclear Project) gave a talk on “Explaining change in Russian nuclear strategy.”

This week, faculty, students and more gathered virtually just past noon to hear Kristin Ven Bruusgaard (Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Oslo, and member of the Oslo Nuclear Project) discuss “Explaining change in Russian nuclear strategy.” Ven Bruusgaard spoke about the way politics, civilian interactions, and military autonomy all played roles in the continuity of and changes in Russia’a nuclear strategy since the end of the Cold War. The talk was streamed live on MIT SSP’s YouTube channel, and a great Q&A with the audience followed.

The next Wednesday Seminar (to be held on 4/7), features Jakana Thomas, Associate Professor of Political Science at Michigan State University, and faculty affiliate of the Center for Gender in the Global Context. Thomas will present: “Sisters Are Doing it for Themselves: How Female Combatants Gender Peace Agreements in Civil Wars.”
